Ingredients
  1. 2 crates large mushrooms
  2. 2 pounds ground sausage, maple flavored
  3. 16 oz. cream cheese
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to high broil.
  2. Wash and dry all the mushrooms and remove the woody stems, turning the mushroom caps into little bowls.
  3. Place each mushroom, bottom side up, on a cookie sheet.
  4. In a large skillet, crumble and cook to maple sausage until fully cooked.
  5. Add the cream cheese and stir constantly until melted in and distributed evenly. Remove from heat.
  6. Using a small spoon, fill each mushroom cap to overflowing with the sausage mixture until all the sausage mixture is gone. The cream cheese will keep the sausage together and allow you to stack the mixture high on each mushroom. Refer to photo.
  7. Broil for five minutes on high and check to see if mushrooms are cooked/heated through. If not, continue broiling and checking in three minute increments until mushrooms are heated through.
  8. Serve hot.
Notes
  1. Easily halves for a smaller group.
