A portrait of each of our children (and sometimes us, too) each week of the year 2014.
James turned three this week! And I don’t know if it was just the birthday adrenaline or what, but he’s seriously more mature all the sudden, too. I think he’s just extra proud of himself so he’s been walking around all puffed up. He made quite the haul at his birthday party and now I get to figure out how the heck to pack it all up and ship it across the country! Not to mention shove it into a beensy space. But, oh, how he loves it all! He did not love the double wasp stings he got as a birthday present, however. His first stings, poor dude. Lately he has been extra gooshy, too. I’m talking kisses and hugs and heart-melting words of affection non stop! It’s so precious, I feel like I just gotta go running or something because I just can’t handle it.
Charlie’s getting some more teethums! And he’s as smiley as ever, as angelic as ever, and oh, my goodness, as delicious as ever. His hair is long enough that it’s lying flatter on his head, but we realized that before, when it stuck up like a little ducky, that he looked like Terk from Tarzan! The Rosie O’Donnell gorilla. The one you don’t know if it’s a boy a girl the whole show. I want to grow out his hair the same way I’ve grown out James’ hair but it’s coming in completely different than James’ and it suits him so well. I think I’ll keep it pretty similarly to what it is now. It’s amazing to me how different my kids’ personalities are, and yet I cannot live without either of them!
