A portrait of each of our children, each week of the year 2014.
James’ obsession with legos has reached unhealthy levels.  I just don’t think he’s emotionally mature enough to handle the passion he has for them.  Consequently, he screams and wails and thrashes whenever “lego time” has to end.  He would go all day without eating and sleeping and having any other type of interaction if we’d let him.  I also think it’s bleeding over into his behavior in general.  He’s much more defiant and ignores me more than he ever has before.  I think legos have created his own little world where he doesn’t think he is accountable to anyone or anything, so he just tunes me out of his life.  I know it’s a great creative outlet for him, but I’m thinking of waiting until he’s a little older to let him play with them.  He is only 2 and 1/2, after all.  I am beginning to see why they are recommended for ages 6+…
Charlie loves to wiggle and rub the back of his head on the ground.  He has a big bald spot because of it.  He looks like a fish out of water when he does it (with his huge smile smeared all across his handsome little face) and it cracks us up.  He also had a lil tooth pop out this past week and we have moved him into James’ room for them to share.  He still wakes up once a night so we are trying to figure out how to keep him in their bedroom without waking James up too.  So far we have just been having James sleep on our floor to see if Charlie’s sleeping habits will fix themselves over the next little while.  Then we’ll go back to our normal sleeping habitats.  Charlie’s hair is getting fluffier and fluffier and I love to rub my face on it.  It feels incredible on my cheeks!
