Seven for Sunday: 11th edition

{Yes, I know it’s Tuesday, but I didn’t want to skip last week and I didn’t have time to post Sunday morning, and I’ve been working on my new blog design all day on Monday, so there ya have it.}

I threw a wedding shower for me dear friend Brooke last week.  We have been working together for a few years now and have gotten really close.  Receptionist Power!  Anyhoo, I’m so excited for her and can’t tell you how great her man is to her.  The wait has been well worth it!

Menu: Cashew Chicken Lettuce Wraps, breadsticks, fruit and fruit dip, chocolate lovers favorite chocolate cake, lemon melt aways, and chocolate dipped fortune cookies in Chinese carry out boxes for the favor–aaaaaand I’m actually throwing this exact shower this weekend for my cousin:)

Organizing menus and throwing/catering parties is probably one of my all-time favorite past times.  I’ve thought about starting a wee business doing it, but haven’t really buckled down and pounded out numbers yet.  Maybe one day.

My parents put their house up for sale this past week.  We’ve been there for almost 20 years and it has been the perfect house to be raised in, but it is definitely time for my parents to downsize. It’ll be sad to see them move on, but it’s exciting to think about it, too.  I’ve been helping my mom get the house ready, and my most recent project was organizing the pantry.  I am kicking myself for not taking a before picture!!!  It was literally at least a 4 hour project.  Here is about 1/5 of the entire pantry:

baskets from Dollar Tree, jars from Wal Mart

We had Brother Cook from the ward over for dinner this past week.  Time got a little away from me and I ended up just picking up a take and bake pizza and whipping up some creamy garlic pasta and breadsticks.  It actually turned out delicious!!  Nothing like a good pizza party in the back yard on a gorgeous evening.

So I got the mouth surgery thing over with and felt incredible the next day and a half.  But then the pain and discomfort hit my like a brick in the face.  I thin I felt so great initially that I just pushed it too hard and wore myself out.  But I’m a little better today.  It’s just my worse nightmare to think that the implant might not take…  But evidently I have a perfect jaw bone for it, so here’s hoping.

Probably my all-time favorite breakfast–Burger King Ham and Cheese Cross’andwich.  I treated myself to this before the surgery since I had to fast the rest of the day, anyway.

James is getting cuter and cuter, I can’t even stand it.  He is at SUCH a fun age.  We are constantly getting cracked up.

I had such a fun Mother’s Day and loved giving the perfect presents to the mothers in my life who I love and admire so much. More on our Mother’s Day festivities tomorrow…

It was time for a new blog design, what do ya think?  I think it may be my all-time favorite so far!!
