Friday evening:

This week has been, in a word …. terrible?  No, not terrible, but definitely not solely wonderful.  While there have been many reasons to celebrate [promotions, birthdays, new babies, family in town], there have just been too many things that have pulled on my heartstrings this week for it to qualify as anything more than “meh.” Not to mention I’ve had insatiable writer’s block…. which would explain my recent lack of posting which you may or may not have noticed.
This weekend cannot come any sooner, or be more timely for this mama, daughter, sister, friend and her heart.
I’m just sick of sad things happening to people I love.  And this week was chalk-full of that.  I won’t go in to detail, simply because they aren’t my trials to discuss [even though I consider it the hardest trial of them all to have to witness someone you love experience heartbreak since you can’t do much to change the situation in spite of how desperately you wish you could].  I just pray we’ll catch a wee break this coming week.  And to help contribute to that, here are my goals for the next few days:
1. Say ‘I love you’ more freely
2. Pray on my knees at least twice a day
3. Vocalize the nice things I think of people so they know how I see them
4. Stay on top of my homemaking list
And keep this quote in my spirit:
“These are the times in which a genius would wish to live.  It is not in the still calm of life that great characters are formed.  The habits of a vigorous mind are formed in contending with difficulties.  Great necessities call out great virtues.  When the mind is animated by scenes that engage the heart, those qualities that would otherwise lay dormant wake into life and form the character and the statesman.”
-Abigail Adams, wife of John Adams, in a letter to her son
Hope you all have a beautiful weekend!
Now we all know what JDub likes to do when he’s bored…..
