Giving Thanks, part 9: Women

Today I am thankful for the incredible women in my life.  We had mommy club this morning at the church at it was so refreshing to gather with other gals my age in my same stage of life and to just talk and laugh and enjoy each others’ insights into motherhood and living.  This is the most unified ward I have ever been in and it touches me deeply that I already have so many sisters in Relief Society who I can call true friends. These sisters have helped confirm that John and I are in such a good place for us and for our little family.  I’m so grateful the Lord provided a way for us to live in this ward and know these wonderful people, especially these women.  There’s nothing quite like a good woman.

I love this quote for women in the Church today:

“The average woman today, I believe, would do well to appraise her interest, evaluate the activities in which she is engaged, and then take steps to simplify her life, putting things of first importance first, placing emphasis where the rewards will be greatest and most enduring, and ridding herself of the less rewarding activities.”
-Sister Belle. S. Spafford, 9th General Relief Society President

The women in my life are such a great example to me of this council. I am a better mother, a better friend, a better wife, and a better disciple of the Lord because of them.
