Labor Cake

So the other day I was in line at my local grocery store and the bagger noticed that I was great with child.  She proceeded to explain to me her pregnancy and labor stories, as well as her daughter’s.  This happens all the time since being pregnant–because of my “condition” I am immediately best friends with strangers {women only, really, so it’s not AS creepy…} and they tell me their deepest, darkest, bloodiest, nastiest labor secrets.  It’s hillarious to me, actually. 

So this particularly open bagger told me the secret to going in to labor…..ready for this?  LABOR CAKE.  She swears by it!  She then gave me the recipe, totally neglecting bagging the patron’s groceries who was behind me in line.  This was way more important.  And you better believe John and I are having this for our family night treat tonight, and all of it’s chocolatey goodness:).  COME ON BISCIUT BOY!!!!!

::Labor Cake::
{What you need}
Box of Devil’s Food Cake mix
1 package chocolate instant pudding
1 12-oz package dark chocolate chips
1 cup sour cream
1 jar dark chocolate frosting
Preheat oven to 350.  Prepare cake mix according to directions on box. Stir in chocolate pudding, sour cream, and chocolate chips. Grease a 9×13 pan. Bake in oven for about 45 minutes to an hour. To be sure cake is done, insert tooth pick in center of cake. It should come out clean when cake is ready.  Frost cake to your heart’s delight.  Eat.  Have a baby.
